Ecosphere episode 3

In this week’s episode of Ecosphere we interview Hale Garcia-Dean, Kate Fox, Jesse Schmieg from the Girman Lab at Sonoma State University.

Hale and Jesse talk about herpetology in Sonoma County, and how their experiences at the Fairfield Osborn Preserve has influenced their graduate research. Kate explains their work on giraffe gait scoring, to develop a non-invasive diagnostic. A throughline of this episode is the challenges faced by researchers trying to communicate their findings to a broader audience, and navigating shareholder opinions.

Ecosphere is made possible by KSUN, Sonoma State University’s Radio Station.
